Camping at Frontenac this weekend and was wondering if anyone had information if the fish have started showing up further up river or if we would be better off toward the lake and into the lake
Primary target is walleye.

Would seem fish are starting to move up river. There’s always a population of fish up there but with cooling water I would think they are moving.

Fished Friday afternoon and most of the day Saturday. Caught enough for a three man fish fry each night but we had to work for the fish we caught. The river produced more fish than the lake. Flicker shads outproduced jointed baits. 12’ or less was the productive depth. Water was still dirty by my standards.
You did better than I did. I tried Red Wing area for a few hours Saturday, primarily with plastics. Caught one nice sauger and several micro sauger. Those who were venturing out seemed to be pulling cranks – and, as you noted, having better luck.
Water is indeed up and agree that it’s relatively dirty. Water temp was about 55 degrees.
Looks like it’s gonna go even higher in coming days.
