What pool?
Its a pretty well known fact that the walleyes can’t go above Dam #3, or below Dam #2, and also they don’t seem to be able to make it under that Hwy 10 bridge which means there aren’t any walleyes at all in P3. There are especially not any walleyes in the inland part of pool 3 where you can only use 1 line…That area sucks!

Yeah, FBRM is pretty quiet about P3…saving all the fish for himself.
^ Says the guy that lives on P3 on the inland portion
When I moved there all the eyes instantly evacuated …its not that they were scared of me, they just knew if I found them I would tell everyone on IDO and they couldn’t risk that.
If I know anything about the inland part of p3 is that the “line” is not the worry. Or where to fish and what the DNR will say…. Its those crazy locals down there that you have to worry about
Better know where you are at and not be thin skinned
I am pretty sure a wise man was once asked about Inland P3 and he said, “Its not what ya know, its who ya know!”

Well Evan we are fb friends now so feel free to send me a DM…
Large Worm ,the only thing imma be sending you is a BM!
Careful now, there is a TP shortage.
I refuse to let this post die, FBR did a great job of working through this with CO Joe. But I need more details. I have sent an email off to the DNR trying to find the answer to the infamous NW p3 boarder line. I don’t feel it is answered yet outside of some emails that said Isabelle is not border water. I will keep everyone updated on what I find. For now lets argue on the internet about what color line is that NW boarder?
The old line “well if you have MN land on both sides of you than that ain’t border water now is it sonny” doesn’t hold water here because you can go fish the vermilion river at Dushanes public launch with MN land on both sides of you and that is indeed IDO and MN DNR certified P3 boarder water!
I was hoping to draw you to this post FBR Shoot only took ya 3 mins
I saw that in the 2016 post. Is that what Joe told you + your interpretation? Or exactly what he told you? What you hope it is? I am knowledge searching!
I’ll be curious if your email to the DNR is as incorrect as the correspondence i had with them in 2016.
This
Ah, first cut into the vermillion from behind Prescott island? From there I assume is where it gets questionable? or did he say any more details?
Not sure what your questioning.
Just send me a GPS coords of where you want to fish walleyes right now, and i’ll see you out there
IMO, go off the shaded map i gave you and go on with life.
I spelled out everything i know in the 2016 thread. Red = Border water, Green= inland MN.
Nuttin has changed since.
Just a hair north of your vermillion cut line in the backwaters there I don’t want to fish walleyes in them per sae, I just want to keep them when I catch them on accident fishing crappies
I am good with your map. Can’t wait to see what I hear from DNR…I hope they send me your exact map lol
I talked to the officer at the landing on Sunday morning, and asked about this. What he showed me on google earth matched pretty close to what FBRM showed. He went back and forth a bit on what ditch he would draw the imaginary line from to Douglas point though. I did ask for a official boundary map that would be used in court if someone were fighting a ticket. He kind of laughed, said that would be nice, and then told me to enjoy my fish fry before walking away. Good luck on the clarification Evan. FYI just like the walleyes crappies don’t live in pool 3 either
Good luck on the clarification Evan.
Good info hill, Were they at the Hastings landing? Prescott? Get thier name by chance?
The DNR just ticked over their 48hr max claimed response time on my email. Maybe they are digging deep and to answer this once and for all complete with gps coordinates, land marks, and extreme detailed definition lol who am I kidding.
poop if FBR (who has a life and job outside of IDO) can respond in 3 mins…You would think the DNR could in 48hrs.
That worked perfect. The DNR must read IDO! Thanks DNR, they just wrote back!
They forwarded it on to the area CO aka Joe, so I am one step closer to getting FBR’s map sent to me from Joe
It was the Hastings landing, so officer Joe.
Just a quick reminder to people running inflatable life vests, make sure they have the proper rating for your intended use. Not all inflatables are rated to be left in a compartment, some need to be worn to count. He didn’t see me take mine off as I was pulling into shore, and he did take the time to confirm it was the correct rating when I pulled it back out of the compartment to show him.
Good luck to everyone this weekend!
This is from the MN boating guide on the DNR site. I know my cabelas and my cheap Onyx vests do not qualify but my higher end Onyx I wear for work does.
I should say the high end Onyx is my only inflatable that doesn’t have the condition “only when worn” printed on the label. When you read the coast guard rules it seems like that’s what disqualifies an inflatable. That vest has been checked before, and has always been given the thumbs up.
OK the end all be all. From Christopher Tetrault: He confirmed my grey line in my image to be correct line and wrote this and included his own (non FRB) image:
“The red line with the lines through it is the boundary”
