    The usual pool 3 silence…

I was out on Friday and did pretty good for just a few hours on the river, but no real pattern/depth to zero in on. A couple came on plastics, both jig and plastic and dropshot with a plastic. I also caught one on a rippin rap and lost/missed a couple other bites on rippin raps and jiggin raps. I did pick up a few nice smallies as well in the same spots.

I was more just checking a spots with the plans of being out on Sat, but I got tied up working around the house. One eye was already milting so I would like to think things will kick off pretty soon.

For real, what’s the deal with such little reports on pool 3?

Anyway, I was out at Prescott on 4/1 with nothing to show for it. Probably a dozen or so boats out with me and I didn’t see a wet net. Water temp was still pretty low at about 39. Will be going out again Monday 4/10 weather dependent.

I’ve been keeping an eye on water temp using the following link.

There aren’t fish everywhere on pool 3, and no were near as much water to fish as P4. It seems to make people extra defensive about the bite, spots, and techniques and I don’t blame them. I am all for giving someone a few pointers while out on the water, but I would never post spots or even much for details online for P3. I think there’s to many people trolling for reports to avoid putting in the hours, and pool 3 takes a Lot of hours to learn. Even a couple years ago it got crazy out there after just a couple pics got posted online.

A friendly reminder to anyone heading out on P3 this weekend. UP RIVER FROM PRESCOTT IS CLOSED TO WALLEYE AND SAUGER. Apparently not everyone reads the rules because there has been a few boats up at the dam! Who knows maybe they’re fishing carp!

Good luck to everyone this weekend! Its the type of weather we dream about for spring walleye. Even a almost full moon… there’s going to be some long nights this weekend cool

Question…Pool 3 is open to fish, just catch and release, correct?

Looking at it again, from the dam North is Pool 2 and open, but from the dam South to Prescott is inland Pool 3 and different. My mistake.

Went out on monday. Cold and rainy and dead. Only saw one small sauger caught out of the only other boat out there.

    update on pool 3
4/17- bite has finally turned on. Caught a dozen or more 12″ walleyes and 1, 16″ Sauger. All fishing methods seem to be working–Trolling cranks, jig/minnow, blades. water temp was 51.7.

Dirty water and some extra current is what we’ve all been waiting for right… or is that just me? I think the weekend is shaping up to be really good everywhere on the river.

If all goes as planned I should be out early tomorrow afternoon and all day sat!

    Update from 4/24.
Fishing was somewhat slow. Small walleyes and saugers biting light on white jigs tipped with minnows. 22mph winds made it hard to stay on top of them. Water level has increased significantly and caused lots of floating debris. Temps were sitting around 55.

    update from 5/8
high water level and low water temps has made fishing slow. picked up some smaller ones trolling and a few keepers by the wing dams.

Made it out on 3 last weekend on Saturday. Lot’s of debris where I was. Hard to keep the baits clean. Once we found clean water we hammered on the eyes. There is definitely not a lack of fish in that pool.
