How long does the bite stay good around the ford dam for the Trophy type of walleye? I have been out once, but it seems like the chatter is way down for that area.

April 30 last year. If my boat was working I’d be fishing it 2x week at least.

I haven’t been out for almost a week, but the last 2-3 times out it’s been quite slow from the bank and shore. Buddy did OK out there last week from a boat. Not much size but decent numbers.

Walleyes were slow for me this week by the dam but I did catch my first ever Pool 2 Perch. The smallies were on fire down river.

Its always been my experience that you can catch some big walleye upriver of the confluence until the middle to end of June. July into August, there are good numbers, but mostly 20″ and under.

I was out this past Saturday and it was slowwwwwww. I was the only boat fishing the confluence area which tells you something. Down river was really dirty due to the minnesota dumping in dirty water after the rain. Tried up by the dam for a bit and there was about 4 boats out. Saw 1 18-20 inch walleye caught.

If someone can find my report from last year it’ll be pretty close to condition now. High colder water, equals bass gear waytogo

Find some wood and start pitching. Nothing furious but they were in it last year a plenty.

Great info guys thanks! For targeting the bass, is the hardware basically the same as in lakes? Jigs, square bills, spinners, worms etc..?
