Caught a couple pigs from shore Wednesday evening. Can’t add pics for some reason but a 30″ & 24″ on a 1/8 oz jig and paddle tail

What an absolute beast – Great work PmB!
Not sure about the rest of the crew here but I’ve been having a good fall for numbers but not so much for size. I feel like I used to pull more +24” fish in the past but they’ve been hard to come by lately for me.

A little late with this news but the dock is out at the 494 access.

Water was actually a bit warmer yesterday but I’m sure that trend will change over the next few days. Found a bunch of fish but again no monsters. Caught two big Crappies on a wingdam, they hit a Pulse-R on a 3/16th ounce jig. Dandies! If I could find them on a more regular basis I’d spend time chasing them instead of Walleyes all the time.

I accidentally found a bunch of crappies too. They were smokin the walleye baits, 1/8 oz jigs with big paddle tails.

Great fish PmB! Those big rocks look familiar. Hope I’m right in guessing where they were. Used to fish that area a lot but found another that was really good. Seems to have cooled off for me lately but I’m gonna have to get out again probably this week.

Made it out last Saturday in the snow. It was cold but the bite was good to us, landing ~20 fish in ~5 hours. Pulse-Rs and any paddle bait with a chartreuse tail was the ticket. For the first time I watched a walleye at the surface respond to a figure 8 maneuver! Hoping we can slip out again this weekend.

Noice! I catch several in the summer on figure 8s, at least when it comes to crankbaits. Crazy you saw that in the cold water period. Hoping to hit it this Saturday, let’s all try to remember to let our trailers drain in the river for a minute instead of rolling up the ramp right away – minimize the ice buildup.

Lions can ice in early but this mild fall doesn’t seem like enough to freeze it up yet.

You can get out yet but will be busting ice. Dan said there was about an inch to break a couple days ago. With zero flow back there right now I would plan on 494 moving forward.

Yes, I launched at Lions Wednesday evening and the ice was pretty thick. One boat had busted a path before me so that helped but coming back in a few hours later things had solidified up pretty good again. With an overnight low of 20 F last night, I’m sure the ice is even thicker now. Save yourself the hassle and just use 494. I think Lions is done until spring.

Wasn’t to bad of fishing for us on Saturday. Jigged up a couple dozen walleyes mid day in one of the holes. Sunday with no sun was a completely different bite. Caught only two fish during the day then got 4 more right at dark. This gal was the big fish for the weekend. 27.5″ but hit the scale at 9# 13 ounces. It’s good to be back on pool 2.

    Nice fish Mike!

No monsters to report from me but had a good bite during the day on Saturday. Nothing hot and heavy but caught a few dozen on basically everything. Jigging raps were the hottest bait for me.

Had a decent afternoon today. Water is back up to 36 degrees and I didn’t see any ice in the water or along shore. Caught a couple on blades and the rest came on moxies and a 3/16th jig. I never found a fish in less than 11 feet of water so pitching to the tops of wing dams wasn’t very productive. Another gorgeous day on the river, I know this will come to an end but it sure has been fun.

I didn’t make it, due to the fact we found fishable ice. But this Saturday the daughter has her b day party from noon to 2. I’m dragging the boat with and will fish from 3 to however late we want. The kids itching to get in the boat.

20 mph winds tomorrow. That doesn’t sound very friendly. But all my gear is rigged and ready. Hoping to be pitching jigs tomorrow evening

Good to see the big sauger showing up. Caught a 20” this AM.
