April 8, 2019 at 3:39 pm #1849217Will we be fishing by the weekend? I have Friday off, fingers crossed!!!
April 8, 2019 at 3:44 pm #1849220Still looks awful high from my vantage point at the U of M hospital looking out over the 94 bridge.
April 8, 2019 at 3:46 pm #1849224Yeah, but the so called experts showing it dropping to around 14′ by the weekend. I just don’t know how much clean up is needed to get on the water.

I drove by lions and 494 and hiked into hidden today. Not looking like much progress so far.

April 10, 2019 at 7:20 pm #1849857I’m thinking about hiking into HF on Friday. Try and pickup a piggy hiding under a picnic table.

InactivePosts: 812April 10, 2019 at 8:20 pm #1849878portaging a canoe down there right now would be… something.
With the snow and ice you could just sit in it and slide right down into the water.

April 16, 2019 at 9:57 am #1851111I went to HF on the 13th and it’s still closed. Everything is under water. Hiked from Minnehaha Falls out toward the confluence and couldn’t even get there. Waded in the cold water for as long as I could stand it. Didn’t catch anything but donated about $50 in tackle to the various trees and shrubs in the area
June 12, 2019 at 5:09 pm #1861871Water levels are receding very nicely. I believe 494 is still closed but there are multiple usable ramps right now.
Catfish bite has been hot as of lately.
Saturday there is a catfish tourney on p2 with 25 boats registered.
Thanks Jakob. I want to get out for catfish so bad. Luke has been on them pretty good this Spring. I’ll be shorefishing though because my nitro isn’t exactly set up for catfishing….Hopefully the shore spots are starting to look a little better too.
June 12, 2019 at 8:34 pm #1861919494 was closed as of Sunday but my guess is everything opens up in the next few days. River is dropping below action some outside of debris cleanup the ramps should be good.
Private ramps I think are all open. Not sure on watergate.
Get that dirty bass boat on the river.

Jakob any more info on this pool 2 catfish tournament. To late to get in?
June 13, 2019 at 9:02 am #1862001Think you might be right. Hope the city gets on cleaning and accessing that ramp quick. I seen river levels are under 10′ this morning.

Hey Jeff – yeah they filled up the 25 boat field and are not allowed to go beyond that number without a permit.
But for future reference check out http://www.kingofthecats.org/
June 13, 2019 at 3:20 pm #1862075Right now the public launches are not looking to be open anytime soon. I would hope 494 soon. Another guy mentioned they would not open 494 till the concrete landing for the dock is exposed and out of water. That could be in the next week here with the way its coming down.
Lions Levee may be a bit. They are trying to get those launch pads replaced and could not set a date with the long high flow we have had. So they will either clean up and open in a couple weeks here when they can put equipment on the island to clean up or they will keep it closed till the pads are replaced. So may be a while there!!June 13, 2019 at 3:23 pm #1862077Usually with the levels we have right now 494 would be open and Levee would typically open this weekend. This is just from reopenings that I have seen in the past. Not the case this year.. Don’t know what’s up with that but disappointing. Not even disappointing but sucks paying the 10-15 bucks every time I go out. Ha ha.
