Lesson learned. Keep boat clean on snow days or you will shovel all kinds of stuff over the side.

What a bumner. Only got out the one day this week. Typically Thanksgiving week is a fantastic week to chase walleye on pool 2. From what we found on Friday this year looked to be no exception. The few big gals we found where in shallow actively feeding midday. And from what we saw the jigs jigging deeper water where on a pretty good bite to. Should of took the entire week off instead of just one day.

Plus side is I think open water on pool 2 is far from over. Good luck to those still getting out.

I fished for a couple hours last night.. Still on the slow side but found one worth the drive down. Still wont look at the ice gear yet anyways.

    Hello Mike,
I ran into you early last spring after you guys opened the 494 ramp. I was in that little 12 foot duck boat. Are you fishing above or below 494?
    Thanks

Nice one Joe. Afternoon and evening bite was a little slow for my boat yesterday. The few we got where plenty fat. Water level is still high and dirty for this time of year. Just fished north of 494 yesterday.

A few from yesterday’s trip. Slow day of fishing and about the time we where going to head in the big gals showed up to eat. Couple 27s and a nice 28″er mixed in with some other nice fish. Big plastics where key. Couldn’t even get a bump on 3 or 4″ plastics.

Good luck to anyone getting out today. Thinking after today that might be a wrap on pool 2 for a while. Guessing its getting near the end of this post to. Sure hope we get another warm up before the end of the year.

Nice fish guys. Really wished I didn’t put the boat away last weekend. Today looks like a perfect day. Hopefully we get another warmup after the holidays.

Weird year with the weather….hopefully this coming spring will be a little more productive and we stay away from major flood stage…..for both the fishing and the communities downriver.

Really nice! I was out midday for a few hours and saw one small one caught. (I am not one for night fishing the river.) The waves were brutal heading back to the ramp. Its hard water fishing time I guess.See you all in the spring.

It was super nice out last night.. Good to get one bonus day in before the weather.
We fished from 4:30-8pm and did good on #’s but no jumbos last night. 26.5 was our biggest.. Lots of 21-22’s. We did best dragging tonight. 5 inch swim baits on 1/8 oz heads in 4-7 fow. Good to see you all down there. I usually fish south and think no one is out fishing. haha…

Took a buddy out that last night before the front came in, was glad to see buschman, chris, and dan out. It’s been a tough fall for me with KWP in a rough spot health wise, weighs on my mind a lot. We landed about a dozen walleye sunday. It was nice to see my buddy hook into a whopper just shy of 29″ on his first cast. We ended the night with 3 large fish and the rest between 20-23″. With the fast current we focused on shoreline current seams, but did find one wingdam that was hot, caught and lost a number of fish off it.

Hi Guys. I took my cousin out on Sunday and he sent me a few photos from his good camera so wanted to share. I always like seeing pictures.

Marty, good to see you too. Too bad hearing about Ken. I did not hear much but what I did was no good.

Great pics Buschman Those last two have really beautiful colors, some of the better close-up shots I’ve seen of walleye. Making me hungry for some cheeks over here.

Guessing 494 must be starting to freeze up with the cool temps now. What a shame as the bite really seemed to be taking off over the weekend. Very nice fish guys.

The news about Ken is very sad. I sent him our fish photos from the weekend to let him know we are thinking about him even though it sounds like he is still in a coma. Sure hope there is a Christmas miracle in store for him and his family this year. Hang in there Ken.

Thanks guys, credit goes to my cousin Alex. He does a great job taking photos and netting fish.. I would see him messing around with that camera wondering what is he taking a picture of?? Now I know! Some turned out super cool! Good guy to have in the boat )

Looks like a nice break in the weather this coming weekend. Maybe one more chance to get at those pool 2 walleye before the end of the year.

I have made the mistake of walking on P2 ice in the past… Not many areas I will and the main channel is not one of them. It seems like someone walks out there every year. Just not smart unless your a penguin.

Matt, there is still a bit of ice and most likely will be tomorrow. It will need some special attention but is always possible to get it opened up. Are you going out tomorrow? I can always stop down and help you guys if anyone is going out. I have the saws to do it!!
