March 5, 2018 at 6:31 pm #1757253Wow, sounds like you guys are doing pretty good on P2.
What are you catching them all on? Is the bite still going?
March 6, 2018 at 8:35 am #1757381I saw mostly plastics being used. I did catch one on a rippin rap, but quickly switched over to a pink ringworm and got fish on the first two casts.
chawn cloughPosts: 23March 6, 2018 at 9:57 am #1757432What size jig would you guys recommend, i am new to river fishing and looking to get out and try it. Was out on pool 4 last saturday and we did not catch a single fish, any help would be greatly appreciated..
March 6, 2018 at 10:01 am #17574331/4 is pretty common. Would guess the flow might go up a bite with the rain and snow the last couple of days so a little bigger might be in order. Windy days might require bigger to. Bring a few different sizes as you never know what conditions might be like.

You put ringworms on that fireball jig Dave? That’s probably my favorite color in that fatties mouth. Wouldn’t think hookups on a short shank is ideal, but then again they usually whack it pretty good?
Stopped by hidden falls on the way home. One boat was heading out at dark.

It’s open. Saw 6 trailers in the lot this afternoon.
There’s a little snow and ice on the ramp from this weeks snowfall but nothing that will stop you.
JacobPosts: 18March 8, 2018 at 7:40 pm #1758304Hey guys, I am not a pool 2 fisherman typically but have a buddy that has done well there. He tells me that p2 is strict catch and release? I tried to find details on the DNR website, but we all know how easy that can be. Could someone please tell me if p2 is strict catch and release or if it just abides by typical inland lake laws. Thanks! And btw, I have loved reading this thread! I normally fish p4 and my wife calls me crazy for fishing in a boat on 20 degree days, but then I showed her the video of what p2 guys have done to catch fish. Suddenly I’m not so crazy…. keep up the strong work!! Hard work does not not go unpaid.
March 8, 2018 at 7:51 pm #1758310Pool 2 is catch and release for saugers, and walleyes. Open year round to fish them.

And for smallmouth/largemouth as well. Here is the DNR page with the info Jacob. It’s way down the page under “special regulations.”
Have fun!

March 9, 2018 at 1:28 pm #1758445Just an FYI on the Lillydale Ramp. Dave B and I checked today over the lunch hour. Still snow/iced in. No one has used it yet this year. Someone needs to drop a plow on that ramp!

March 13, 2018 at 7:13 am #1759096Anyone look at the lilydale ramp over the weekend?
Dang it Sticker! Get off my numbas!!!!!!!!
March 13, 2018 at 7:27 am #1759101From what I could tell when driving past it Saturday and Sunday in the boat, it was not usable. Saturday there was a plow clearing it.

Glad I’m not the only one glued to my TV on Sunday nights this time of year!
