Pool 2 launch and safety?

Going to fish P2 next week, but a neighbor said he heard of a lot break ins to cars/trucks on P2, wasn’t sure where though.
    Any truth to it?

I know there’s always the chance, but no sense launching at a spot that has more than their share of break ins.

    Best launch?

I have never had an issue at 494, Lions Levee or Hidden Falls. There seems to be enforcement presence at those landings.

Wakota Bridge, and yes that’s where the access is.

As others have said, I have never had a problem at the 494 or lions levee landing.

The only one I’ve even heard of problems at is Lilydale, and I’ve never had a problem there myself. I’ve personally seen patrols at all four ramps.

Never had any issues at any of the landings either. Even left a truck window down on a few occasions. Just do leave anything inviting out in the open or you will be asking for a smashed window.

Never had an issue at Lilydale or 494 and I have stayed pretty late into the night.I have seen both park security and squad cars patrol thru when I have come into the landing.Just dont leave anything in your rig and I think you will be fine.

Thanks all, I’m pretty close to wakota so I’ll use that one.

Lillydale is the only one I would watch out for. Your vehicle may be ok but I would cover your ass with a tin pie plate. (Literally some weird people sit in that lot and I’ve been asked some weird questions) moon

I’ve used that landing for years.. I personally haven’t had bad luck there, but a few of my friends have. It is just so isolated. Years ago the owner of the saw mill just down the drive from there used to get mad at people for launching. That is no longer the case, as he has moved on..

Funny story about that landing.. There was a full size Plano tackle box left at the launch last year. OF course I had to open it up to see what was in it. Well the flies buzzing around should have warned me. Someone decided to take a # 2 in it and then leave it for some sucker like me to open it up….

    ugh

What sort of bad luck have your friends had? I’ve never been concerned about a boat landing being isolated, but being from rural WI, I dont really trust people by the cities that much unfortunately.

We actually loaded the boat there last week and a cop drove down and talked to us for a bit, so that made me feel a little better that they may patrol the area. On the other hand that might mean they have issues with people doing shady stuff down there.
The actual landing is a total POS however, there is a huge washed out rut in the sand and the supposed concrete ramp does not come anywhere near to touching the water.

Broken car windows on 2 different occasions, Nothing was missing in the vehicles though. We used to live about 2 miles downstream of that place. In High school people used to have parties down there.
