Pool 2 landings?

I want to try pool 2 for the first time but I will likely be launching by myself and from what I’ve researched it sounds like some of the landing might be a bit challenging. Are there any landings open that have docks or sandy shores to park a boat when parking?

    Thanks,
    Joe

Not sure if it’s open, but the Lion’s park landing in St. Paul Park is not quite on the main channel(so not much current) and has a dock.

No idea if the dock is in as of now though, haven’t been down there yet this year.

If you’re looking to get further up river and don’t want to do the long run, the Ft Snelling launch in the MN river is another good option. I do it solo all the time. See the various other threads about p2 launches )

Is the shore sandy so I beach my boat well? According to the website the dock is not in as of the 22nd.

It’s not sandy, but it’s soft. Muddy. (Bring an extra pair of boots if you don’t want to track the mud back into your boat.)

No rocks there. Some submerged trees a little further downstream but there’s room between that and the ramp. You can run your boat right into the bank like 5 yards immediately east (downstream) of the ramp and tie it to a tree while you park the truck.
