Just what you see here. Plus the Griz usually shows up. Would guess about 12-15 teams will show up.

Dick was down there yesterday… I saw him high tailing out when the weather was coming in. I think he was getting his feet wet and finding those fish on a day where he thought we wouldnt see him
Anyone looking for a partner? I’m planning on fishing but would rather not do it alone.
If you cant find anyone Tim maybe you could grab Joel from Jon’s boat.
Wish I could make it this year but I’ve got family commitments. The bite seems to be decent to good recently so I’d expect some pretty good score cards.
Good luck to everyone fishing.
A few reminders/tips:
– Plan on paying entry fee with cash. $25 per person or $30 with big fish pot entry.
– Mike will be at the Lions boat ramp at 7am. Look for sign up /check in table there.
– Bring a pen for tracking your score sheet. Have a back up or two!
– A clip board helps keeping score sheet and control item handy and organized. Control item will be given out at sign in.
– You can put in at Lions Levee or 494. We will stage boats on the island as usual. (Directly across from boat ramp) There will be a short rules meeting / Q&A prior to take off.
– We will stage for take off about 10 minutes to 8am in the main channel directly out from Lions Levee. This will be a shotgun start. A horn blast at 8am signals take off. Please be careful! Smaller – slower boats should try to stay clear of the bigger boats.
– Please practice Covid protocol where possible.
– Weather is still looking good! Should have a decent turn out. Headed out now for some pre-fishing now. See you in the morning. Good Luck Everyone!

Looking forward to this! I’ll have a small bag of some pannies to bring along.
Anything else needed? I’ll make a quick grocery run. If we have a big fryer we ould dump in some tots or fries.
Hope everyone is having fun! Eat lots of Sharon’s cookies ad Apple goodies for the rest of us!!!
Thanks everyone for the great event! Thanks to all the organizers, sponsors, and everyone that made it happen! Thanks Sharon for the incredibly goodies!
Congrats to everyone who placed today! Few pics.
Team buschman takes First place!
Thanks for everyone that came out to fish the contest today. Could not of asked for better conditions and the fish even cooperated. Congratulations to Joe Busch on a long over due win of the contest.
Also want to give a big thank you to our contest prize sponsors. Tru Tied tackle for the control items. BfishN tackle, plastics hat and a very nice hoodie, Kwik trip gift card.
Eric and I had a pretty good bite going today on hair jigs but just couldn’t cross paths with any big fish. Still fun to catch a few fish at every place we stopped.
I had a wonderful time at the potluck and enjoyed sharing my cookies, bread, and apple pie liquor! Always fun to see some familiar faces and to meet some new ones.
Mike and Jon, thanks so much for putting on this contest every year! It’s a great time and nice to meet so many good people. The fish fry and potluck was top notch as always! I knew team Buschman would get a win out there eventually, he knows too many good spots and techniques that it was only a matter of time. From what they shared it was really a neat pattern they got on. Thanks to the sponsors that donated raffle prizes, Kwik Trip, B Fish N, IDO. It was great that the big fish prize was in memorial of Kendall Palmer aka KWP. I fished the contest with him 5 times over the years and he really enjoyed it so much. He was such a great guy to share a boat with and he really knew how to catch those big walleyes on Pool 2. Every time I fish out there now I remember him, and all the big fish he caught. I miss him all the time. Thanks to everyone that fished, and also a big thanks to those who didn’t but came to the potluck and to socialize. It’s always such a fun event.
Good morning guys and gals. We really got lucky on weather and all had a great day to be on the river. I believe everyone would agree that it is very appreciated that you guys take the time to put this together every year. This was the 7th year that I fished it and we were team # 7 on the list. I knew that had to be a good omen. Haha. Good to see you all and I look forward to next year already.
Sorry. I attached one of a 20.5. Bryan has all the photos and will get the corrected on of our last 21.5 from him.
Jason had a 24 inches get away from him while measuring before we got a photo so I took over on the tape after that. Haha. My fault. I should have had the bump board in the boat. Sorry about that and having to use the gunnel rail.
Here is a photo of the big one.
Rigging live bait was the deal yesterday. We caught 3 smaller ones casting cranks but live bait shined for the bigger fish this last week.
Thanks to Mike and Jon for putting this event together. Thanks to Jon for cooking the yummy food and others that brought great snacks and drinks. Here are our 2nd place fish.
Hooked into this beauty with about an hour to go. For about half the fight I was certain I had the tourney winner….
Jason has our biggest….a fat 25”. We just could not get out of the 17” fish pods. Great time though!
Those flatties are fun on lite tackle!
Not the biggest fish in our bag, but good to see a nice chunky 21.5 inch sauger come to the net!
