So are we going to do the pot luck? If we are I need to start my dish tonight.
Think the only thing that will stop guys from eating is if its raining.

Everything planned is a GO. Rain or shine.

I stopped down today and checked a few areas from shore. Clairity is not too bad. 7-8 inches right now. The river really looked nice. Coming up a little but was not flowing as fast as I though it would be. Look forward to seeing you all Saturday. We might be down in the boat tomorrow playing around for a bit. Here is a photo of the launch today.
Wish you all the best! Hopefully one day I will have enough experience to join the competition.

Ha! I’ve been on the lower pool few time in my life. My boats just here to up the pot.
Might have to run it north of st.paul, see how much we can stretch out 15″ers on the board
Pre-fished for a bit today…it’s gonna be a grind.
Can we count white bass?
We got into some pigs today, just the wrong kind!
Nice. Very fun fish to catch.
About 12hrs from go time. Can’t say pre fishing went all that well today but it was good to be back out on pool 2. I should be down to Park Diner about 6am for coffees. Plan on being set up at the landing by 7 for sign ups.
Rain or more rain its all a go. Think tomorrow morning is going to test everyones rain gear.
Got any last minute questions let me know.

Where are the walleyes?
Highlight of our day, take off. We didnt get skunked, but werent far off.
Awesome job organizing guys!! Here are a few pics from take off.
Congrats to team Mike W and Eric S on their win today! Also taking big fish honors! And a big to everyone who showed up to fish during a morning long downpour and pretty much all day rain!
Nice way to break in the new boat, Mike.

Great to meet all of you in person.
Great looking rig Mike.
Shout out to Rootski and Sharon for showing at the end.
Thanks for the claw Matt, even if it was the gross rasberry
Let’s add this monster to the brag board….
Future 10 pounder right there.
It was fun seeing and meeting a few of you guys! Too bad the weather was so crummy but I’m happy Dad and I were able to stop down for a visit, some laughs, and some delicious food. Glad I kept a few extra cookies in the truck for my Mom – the plate was empty when we left!
Nice job guys, takes some dedication to fish in the rain all day.

She poured pretty good in the morning. Had water up over the floor of the boat by the time we got to the first spot. Hit the bilge pump and guessing pumped 50 gallons out. About mid morning the rain tappered off and wasn’t to bad after that. I had canceled the contest at one point early yesterday morning as we where sitting at the diner. Got a call from Jon who was at the landing say guys are showing up and want to fish. Hats off to you guys.
Hi Guys, thanks again for putting this one… Hopefully better weather next year. I didn’t mind but would get some of those light weights that didn’t show to make it next time. hahaha
here are our biggest for the day. I will get some more photos up this afternoon also. We ended up with most of our fish by 9:30am. We had to fight the rest of the day for a couple upgrades.
It was great meeting all of you who came. I would post the big fish I caught but I was skunked. Good thing at least Mr. Beads got us on the board. I guess next year we will be defending last place if that doesn’t go to the people who didn’t show up. Your cookies were great Sharon.
Kudos to everyone going out in nasty weather. Dumb question: what’s with the playing cards? Keep you from using fake pictures of prior catches? I’ve never fished a tourney before…

There is a random “control object” passed out at registration. Since you don’t know what it is, you can’t take photos weeks ahead of time and say you caught it during the tournament. Kind of like people posting a picture of a current newspaper to prove a hostage is alive…just MORE serious.
Also, Pool 2 is catch and release. For typical tourneys you bring fish to the scale for weights. But since you can’t possess fish on that water, so they need to be quickly photo’d and released. Its a fun tournament and nobody takes it too seriously…except for bragging rights. The entry fee isn’t much more than a case of beer and a crank bait.
BTW, I think Mike W should be disqualified. In part for wanting to CANCEL the tourney at 7am due to rain, but also for using the BACK of the control item, which COMPLETELY ruins the purpose if it. If he didn’t have a brand new boat, we might have had to blow the whistle on him.
Great job on the dedication people. Congratulations Mike! Mind if I ask you a question? Like Dude, do you get tired of catching all the big fish?
If anyone’s curious it takes about 50 minutes to run to the dam in cold wind and rain from lions. Hurts the face a lil bit as well
Mr. Beads… In case it makes you feel better.. We had 3 fish on the board before you all seen spring lake
We thought about making that run and trying to beat you all down there but agreed together that didn’t sound fun.
