A ice saw and a little work any of them can be.

Look in the walleye thread…..Ramps are gonna be tough until we get a few more days of warm weather in a row.

The Minnesota up near shakopee is locked up. Gonna be a mess when that breaks loose.

Someone went outta hidden falls today, looked to be in good shape. I’ll be down there on shore somewhere.

The minnesota has a ton of ice on it up by Belle Plaine and Henderson also. I think guys have been ice fishing up there.

Somebody was out in the snow last night. Nitro I think. Kudos to you if you’re reading this!

Does anybody know if any of the accesses have a dock in? I know the IDO episode a couple weeks used one, but I didn’t recognize the landing. I’d like to take advantage of the weather this weekend to take out my brand new Lund, and while I know it’s a tool that was built to be used, I’d still rather not have the very first thing I do with my brand new boat be beaching it on rocks/ice.

St Paul Park landing always has a dock in but might not be open with a lot of ice in that area with this recent cold snap. We chopped a lot of ice Sunday to get the boat out Monday this week.

Got word that this afternoon the ice at 494 is back out to the channel.

If the river does open back up it will have a lot of sheet ice out there for a bit.. These sheets will be 4 inches thick and 2-80 ft in diameter. Monday the river was choked shore to shore in areas with this ice. I don’t know if it is the best playground for a new boat anyways. Not till the busted shore ice moves out of the channel. Just a heads up is all. This will mainly be the first 24-36 hours after the landings open up. Waves from the boats are what will be breaking most of this shore ice loose and there is a lot of it right now.

Thanks for the advice guys. The show two weeks ago along with having to travel to Minneapolis for work last week (where it was pretty wide open) had me chomping at the bit. We’ll play it by ear this weekend.
