Pool 2

I drove by the 494 access this afternoon just to get a look at the river. It’s going to be a long winter

Yuk.

I shore fished up river from hidden falls on 12/23, still some open water up there yesterday when I drove by. Could be a long winter. Looking forward to pier fishing in California in February.

So depressing. There is a little water open up by the ford dam but it’s socked in pretty tight. Might be able to shore fish up there a bit in that little eddy.

I loathe ice fishing but I might need to scratch the itch.

First weekend day we get above freezing, I’m going trout fishing.

Looks like that will be very soon Steve. Im starting to wonder if we wont be back out on pool 2 before the end of the month. Weather forecast is shaping up.

Had to bring that up didnt you Dave. I was in a bad place in my life last time I walked on water. Trying to move past that now.

Nice! I think an IDO ice fishing Pool 2 get together would be fun. How many hole can we punch in Hog Lake???

I am not bashful about sharing my spots, but I try not to share spots other people show me. There isnt a lot of room back there and it isnt easy getting it. No fun to get into an area and not be able to fish it.

I know this has been a bit of a known community hole for years.

I’m not looking for a spot. When you called it by name and capitalized it “Hog Lake,” to me it sounds like a legitimate DNR recognized body of water. I’ve spent a bit of time on the pool and that name wasn’t familiar to me, so I asked.

Dave, what’d you do???

It’s only the greatest spot on Pool 2!!!

Seriously, it’s more like the only place to ice fish safely on P2 and have a chance at catching a fish. Easiest access is by boat, even when there’s ice (except when there’s ice in the channel, of course).
