do you guys think theres any chance of finding some fish up by the dam this early? It seems too fast and shallow for the most part to hold any fish yet… Am I wrong?

USGS site says temp of 35.5 right now. I’m guessing walleyes don’t really start showing up there til 40ish degrees?

My plan is this Sunday and Monday to be there! you will only know by trying and with the weather the way its forcasted there is really no excuse especially if the TV is the only alternative! maybe we can work together and find some nice eyes.

I have been down there on shore a couple times in the last few days and haven’t had a bite. I’m using a jig/plastic.

Clear water, low flow, I find they go nocturnal. Unless you find some deeper pools, or turbid water that’s breaking light penetration.

10-4, ? im sure its gonna be tough for another week or two until the weather really equalizes. Ill be in a 14ft aluminum boat and evinrude 15, this will be my first time out this year in boat just got the new motor and cant wait, just cant pass up on the oppourtunty. they may still be holding down a little staging to make a push to spawn. who knows this is why I love fishing.

Fish often. Hard to find a flaw in that. Would be out there every day right now if I could.

There is a small population that is always in that area. I am sure you guys will start to see the males in big numbers soon but don’t believe the ladies are moving/running yet… Hope to see them start showing up though.

We found a pile of channel cats staged in an area last week and they staged in this same area last year also. Once they left the walleyes filled right in behind them. I agree, next weeks forecast/weather should get things going good. I am looking forward to it !!

Lake Pepin is still covered in ice, so I assume the big push of fish hasn’t happened yet. Once the flow starts going up more and the lake begins to open, I’m sure the rush will be on.

How the heck do I delete a post?

My bad, wrong pool. Thought I posted in the Pool 4 thread.
