My buddies and I ended up fishing pool 11 yesterday and tied into some nice panfish, mostly red ears, bluegill and perch. Spikes and tungsten jigs seemed to be the meal ticket, however we did get some smaller perch and bass on tip downs as well. Ice was 5-7”, but sketchy in spots so bring a spud bar.

That’s the first time I’ve heard the term “red ears”. I like it.

I’m not real sure what sunfish carry for names, ie, warmouths, pumpkinseeds, redear sunfish, etc. But I think they were redeared sunfish.

Yup. It’s Dubuque. I grew up around Dubuque and mostly ice fish up by Guttenberg and Harpers Ferry, but we tried down around Dubuque this time.
