    River Stage at McGregor Ia

Is it me or does some of the slightest rain falls affect Pool 10 more then any of the other pools ?

This is in no way a rant… I like higher water levels in some cases… and lower in others.. I’m just curious if you have followed pool levels in the past…

I used to live five miles below Guttenberg, Lock 10. I had heard that pool was used to regulate the others above and below so we saw a lot of fluctuation. Not sure if it was true, but that was the rumor.

Since you have the Wisconsin dumping in that pool, a lot of rain east of the Mississippi ends up there rather quickly.

Yes, I check the pools daily. http://www.riverwatch.noaa.gov/forecasts/ARXRVDARX.php

    Tim,
I hear you on the Wisconsin… that baby dumps in a heck of a sand line when the mid state gets blasted !!

Fishing down here has been dynamite on the DSM river with the higher water… Best fishing in the last 2 weeks than I have experienced anywhere on this earth.

    More rain!!
