Has anyone added on to a pole barn? Did you add onto the gable end or the over hang? Any suggestions on how it was tied in? I am struggling on which way to extend my current shop. Hire it out or diy? Lumber prices continue to go up so I’m not sure if I’ll even be able to do the project this summer.
It should be easier to tie into a gable end. I guess you would have to decide on diy on what you think your skills are.
Lean to roof or are you looking to order trusses?
My first thought was to go lean to style off the backside matching the roof slope would be easier. But then adding a couple posts and trusses seems maybe less work. That’s my hang up, I guess. I have never hung trusses but have built some other wood frame stuff like sheds etc.
Not sure if it makes a difference if shed is designed with out a lean to attached would be the extra snow load with a lean to attached make a difference?
