Does anyone have any pros or cons over these two (2)machines.
I’m leaning towards the general.

Does anyone have any pros or cons over these two (2)machines.
I’m leaning towards the general.
One is for work and the other more for play/trails. Depends on what you plan to use it for.
If you plan on using it for more work than play then a ranger. If your gonna be trail riding only then a general. Both have tons of accessories available to do about anything you want. General can still be used for work/plowing snow and pulling things but the ranger has a bigger box and One thing nice about the general is that it already comes with nice doors if you want doors.
Fishing, Checking the mailbox, & trail rides .
The general has a utility box, with bucket seats, I’m guessing suspension is slightly better.
Ranger has the bench seat & larger cargo box
Curious if anyone has had one & upgraded to the other ?
I had a ranger for a couple years and have relatives with them also. I have friends with generals that I have drove on the trails. It depends what level general you get. The cheaper ones don’t have much adjustment in the shocks. The general you sit down in the seats and feel kinda cramped IMO. The rangers are nice and wide open feeling and sit up more straight. Go to a dealer and sit in them both. I now have a Kawasaki teryx
I have RZR’s and Rangers, when I hit the trails I hit them hard, when I want something for work I like the Ranger….but I did put a plow on one of my RZR’s and it works good. Ranger also has turf mode for driving on the lawn, I don’t think the General has that. Sounds like a General would fit you needs better.
Does the general have A/C & Heat options ?
I would more than likely add the winch & plow system.
Turf mode, What exactly does this accomplish?
Turf mode is a Polaris thing and it allows you to have only one wheel in the rear engaged. It’s very nice for riding on the road when turning and does not chew up your tires on sharp turns. Also nice while driving on your lawn and won’t tear up the grass.
I don’t think they make a general with heat and ac option directly from Polaris but they make the ranger northstar that comes with all of that
I just bought a General XP with ride command in June and love it so far! My brother bought the Ranger XP right after and he loves his also. I will use mine for trail riding as well as getting tracks for it for Sturgeon Bay ice fishing, while he will use his on his 80 acres for plots and hunting. I can always get a trailer or rack for mine if I want to while he cannot remove the box, so it does depend on what you expect to use it for?

Most manufacturers now have turf mode on many models. I know my Pioneer 1000 does.

Wish Kawasaki would come out with it
The General has the Turf mode, on all models and trim levels. It does not have an AC option, but there are full cabs and heat options from Polaris and other aftermarket companies as well. The General has a bit more horsepower and a touch higher top speed and the ride is definitely better, but it is much less of a work horse, that’s for sure. I’d drive them both and see what you like better, can’t go wrong with either.
The Generals are sweet machines and leaps and bounds better on the trails than the rangers. Honestly, the Can-Am defenders are much better trail machines than the Rangers but the Generals are better than both.
I pushed the FW to get either a General or the new RMax when we replaced our old Maverick since I wanted a real bed to fish with…that didn’t happen, bought an X3. Not disappointed.
The X3 you purchased, is this the (4) seat model ?
If so that’s a massive machine.

No. school buses belong on roads, not trails.
