I don’t have anything too current, but Friday I was told there was 8-10″ out there and that was from a guy who was out last Wednesday.

Thanks! I would think after this week by Sunday there should be enough.

I fished it last weekend and there were smaller sized SUVs and cars out there. Likely over 12″ of ice now but always measure it yourself.

One other thing is someone told me you can get on the lake on the north End. I have never been out there. Can someone help me out with directions to north end access?

There is usually a road out of the floppy crappie on the north end. That being said, Pokegama and cross lakes are just a dammed section of the snake river. River=current. Current=sketchy ice. Be careful breaking trail.

Go out from the Floppy Crappie. The north access is in the channel. I wouldn’t trust that ice.

Dont take any part of that lake for granted. I fish it heavily and wouldn’t drive out. I found 6 inches of ice in a spot last night, and 80 yards over was 11″

I’ve heard the same about the ice up there Bearcat. I got a buddy that likes to take the wheelhouse up there (not this year yet) with the fam as it’s close to their home but I think I’ll keep walking it for a while.

Has anyone been on the lake recently? Headed up to the cabin and was looking to take my truck and wheelhouse out on the lake. How are ice conditions? Anything to look out for?

Ice has been good. But with the wheel house and truck just stick to the roads. Dont go blaze trail with out checking

Has anyone been out on this lake recently? I drive a small ford suv and have friends fishing today that want me to join but I’m nervous driving my new vehicle out there since the I’m reading the river flows into this lake. Please help!!

There is plenty of ice. Stay away from the river mouths and you’d be fine.
I’d be more worried about the amount of snow if I were you. It’s tough going in a 4×4 truck let alone an SUV. Definitely stay on the trails or you will get stuck. To be honest, I think you will get stuck on some of the trails in a small suv.

Like grubson said. Ice isn’t a issue right now. Stay away from river inlet and out and you will be good. It’s more of a mobility issue right now. Snow is deep and trucks arnt the ticket.
