Anyone know if there is still safe ice on pokegama? I want to hit ice tomorrow somewhere and I’m trying to gauge how far north I need to drive. Sure wish I could have made it back to Ely this weekend, the lakers were going nuts last week!

Talk with Tall Tails bait or maybe Fish Lake bait (owned by the same guy) Good luck!

I know some guys are fishing in the bays for Crappies but havent seen anyone out in the main parts. I would assume wheeler traffic is safe but I would avoid channel areas or around the islands. We had plenty of cold temps this last week.

Does Pokegama have a fishable population of lakers?

I know the DNR stocks it, but their net surveys don’t show much.

Can’t tell you how many lakers I’ve caught out there, they go down the snake and get into Cross too!
