Plugging sink overflow

I want to plug the overflow on my sinks. The ones for my garage sinks. No need to have overflow pipes.

Any good ideas? I would really prefer to have it as a stainless cover sealed. The hole is a 2″ hole. Any ideas to seal these and still have them look decent?

I have one removed in the picture. Thanks.

SS bolt, 2 fender washers and silicone for a cheaper approach.

Get some stainless plate and cut out a piece and weld it over the hole. Simple job if you have a welder.

Otherwise the washers and bolt is a good idea and easy like mentioned

Can you find some neoprene or rubber grommets to fit the holes, then cut stainless washers without any holes to fit?

Try a plumbing wholesale house and ask for cock hole covers, I’m not sure if they’ll cover a 2″ hole though? Or look at these:

something like this or very similiar would work. get one of those plugs plumbers use to air test there lines. they should tighten up woth a screw similar to a boat plug. i have one for my livewell on my boat.

i wouldnt recommend welding on a sink. that stainless isnt all that fun to weld. been there done that, and i welded many different stainless alloys for 28 years.

I think I’ll try what FTE suggests.

waytogo waytogo pretty much same concept I was thinking. Should work, unless if course you go to fill your cocktail glass and leave the water running. rotflol

I’m surprised no one mentioned any of the flex seal products.

Some auto parts stores carry expandable rubber frost plugs. Multiple sizes. Buy a 2 inch plug and tighten a wing nut.
