How can a supreme judge tell me that a wolf is an endangered specie in Wi? The wolf season has been only open for a few years and it is all ready close and now illegal. I guess the DNR/ this supreme judge want the deer population to be non existent for my young class of hunters.

    Zach:

Am a bit surprised, but then not. I have been waiting for the group (Humane Society of the United States) that filed the lawsuit to find a judge that would be supportive of their agenda. It finally happened and I am surprised it took this long. This has nothing to do with any DNR!!! Neither MN, MI nor WI!!! None of the DNR’s has answered the judgement. I suspect there will be some comment from them early next week if not before.

The DNR’s of our states are trying to rebuild a balanced deer herd, balance the wolf population (slowly, much too slowly) and our last two winters have not helped any…

The judge does not care about the deer herds…

This battle will go on for a long time between anti-hunters and hunters…

I would love to see that Judge’s 11 page decision.

Thanks Ron. Eleven pages did sound too simple.

However just reading through the last two sections cuts to the thought process and out come. About four pages.

I was following along pretty well…until I came to the reference of FOX NEWS to support the conclusion.

It was at this point that I realized that I could be making better use of my time by picking my nose.

For the record I couldn’t give a flying fruit basket whether there’s a season or not.

It is frustrating when people make decisions with out understanding the ecosystems! How many of these plaintiffs have walked through the north woods and not seen a deer track but only wolf tracks?

We all knew it was a matter of when…not if. This is what happens when we trust “book-smart” tree hugging liberal dunbazz$ with no frick’n common sense. God forbid this judge hears the lawsuits against gun manufactures because someone used a gun in a murder or other crime. Where does it stop? People have been stabbed with ink pens….will BIC get sued because they designed a pen with a ball point tip? This is just one more reason why I am scared to envision the future for our kids

What does it take to stop this “judge shopping” by advocate groups? They are given endless opportunities to file and file and file until they find a judge that finally sides with them.

The whole “rationale” for the decsion is that a Washington DC based judge simply doesn’t agree with the entire agency whose job it is to determine the status of the Wolf. Her opinion is not based on science or facts, those have already been determined when the USFW agency delisted the wolves.

    Absolutely disgusting.

I haven’t seen any evidence of that in this case. Can you show where the plaintiff’s in this case “judged shopped” or are you just making stuff up for effect?

Actually, the decision is based on the process for listing/delisting as set forth in the ESA. The judge ruled that the USFWS did not properly follow the law when issuing the Final Rule to delist the wolves in 2012.

If these crazy “poor wolf people” actually lived in wolf country they might have a different opinion! If they let Fluffy out to go to the bathroom and the wolves devoured poor Fluffy, how would they think?

If their favorite horse Trigger was disemboweled by a pack of wolves, how would they think? When their kids 4-H calf was turned into a pile of bones, how would they think?

Sorry, just tired of people with no clue trying to prevent the departments who know how to manage wildlife from doing their job. Maybe we should drop them off in the middle of the woods known to have a large population of wolves and let them fend for themselves.

You are fooling yourself if you think it wasn’t very calculated on the HSUS part. They filed this lawsuit in a jurisdiction that they knew would have favorable odds of getting a sympathetic judge.

Of course they did. That’s simple, competent representation. That’s a far cry from…

file and file and file until they find a judge that finally sides with them.
