I use plastics made by B-Y Baits, they can be ordered on line they have a web site. All of the popular colors and many designs. Price is fair also.

I use a lot of Impulse Mayfly and Powerbait Fry and 0.75″ Wishbone. I will be trying some cut up pieces of Elaztech after I saw it featured in the latest InFisherman. It’s floating, invincible plastic. Salty though. You don’t want that in your tungsten box!

If I could pick one bait it would be a 1/32oz Clam Dropkick gold jig with a black Mayfly with the legs ripped off.

Use the search function and try “plastics panfish”. It’ll keep ya busy.

X3 for B-Y. The action you can get out of them is unmatched IMO.

Tried the Impulse Water Flea and Mini Smelt this year and am happy with them, although wish it was smaller than 1.5in for when the fish are finicky. Otherwise the Trigger X spike worm and wax tails have been my go-to’s for a few years

I wish these were never discontinued.Trigger X are great plastics, don’t know why they were discontinued?I tried the Powerbait swordtails, and they are not that durable.I got the Trigger X plastics when they came out,and never used live bait since.

Thanks guys. Because this thread I looked in to b-y plastics and just made a 30 dollar order.

What colors do you usually buy from them ?

I’d take the blame but then the wife would give me that look. You know the look. The one where she asks if my 1000 baits I already have arnt good enough

Any color works as long as its chartreuse. Or orange, or purple. Sometimes white. I’d just buy one of everything.

I have all their colors but usually end up red, white, brown,or that pinkish pearl color.I tried their glow last week for the first time and that seemed to be the color that day.

Whats better BY or Trigger X? I should buy both and test them on my Neon Tetras (hookless of course)

So far this year Clam Maki plastics have been good. Specifically the maki, jamei and mino. Pink or red is always my go to. Another good one is the Slugbug from Northland but sadly they discontinued that. So they are hard to find

I got some 13 fishing coconut crabs on clearance and they have been my new go to for crappie and gills.

I don’t fish a lot of plastics but the impulse may fly has been really good for me.

Good posts! I like the chigger fry but wish they made one with a slightly longer and thinner tail. The j and s icemite although you can go through them if the fish are finicky, they nip off the ball at the end. Can’t go wrong with a standard wedgie style. My pet peeve with them is crooked tails, even with better packaging like the 13 fishing and some the powerbaits.

I primarily use Little Atom Micro Nuggies. Works just about all the time for panfish. Sometimes I’ll use a regular Nuggie for agressive crappies or a piece of a Wedgie for inactive fish.

I should try a couple from B Y baits after reading these replies though.
