Koonce and I are driving to Texas to look at a 4-passenger hovercraft that will help us get around out on the ice this winter, assuming it passes the sniff test and follows us home. We left last night from PDC around 7PM and we just rolled past Joplin, MO!

With a little luck we’ll be able to get on some bites this winter that previously had only been accessible during extended cold snaps during the most bitter winters. woot

We’ll need to see how that works with the Lake MI ice pack this winter wave

Dave gets all the credit with this deal. He’s been wanting a Hovercraft for as long as I’ve known him. I’m along for the ride to make sure he transitions from wanting one to having one!

Should work well as long as the heaves are minimal.

Finally…an answer to the question, “what do you get the guy that has everything?”

    That would be a blast!

It’s a whole new world now boys! I was thinking of a tow-behind option to include me as a stowaway on all these trips, but as much as I like how my voice sounds when talking through a fan, I’m going to try and dream up a push sled or other float-able option to ride out in front. Promise not to back-boat you guys!

I think it needs a good IDO inspired paint job. (if that’s even possible)
