Planning to head north with my son the weekend of Jan 13th. Would like advice on which lake to hit. We don’t have snowmobile or atv so which lake below do you think we have the best chance on foot at getting on fish.
Devils Lake
Upper Red
Leech
Mostly looking for walleye, perch, and pike
Can’t go wrong on any of those, and I know Red and Leech are drivable (assume Devil’s is too, but not sure). I would probably drive the extra hour to LOW, as that’s a little more likely to have steady action for your son. Regardless of which lake, you should be able to go through a resort’s road and drive to where you want to fish. They will also help you with where the best bite is depth and lure-wise.
