Alright what’s the secret I see guides and other fellas running huge spreads of cranks on boards on pepin. I can’t even keep 2 rods clean for more than 5-10 minutes . They just dragging weeds along or there some secret I don’t know about ? Seems like I’m constantly reeling in . They like to by pass my swivel completely as well .

Reel up… the crank or rig should run over the weeds.

I think what Andy is referring to is the floating vegetation that he is picking up and sliding down his line and fouling his cranks..

I too struggle down on Pool 4 as there is a lot of crap in the water right now. Seems like 50′ and pull up and clean. It seemed to me at least if you went farther down the lake the water cleared up a lot not as many dead may flies or weeds floating in the water. I don’t know the answer on how to troll through the soup down there right now.

Pretty easy actually. Put something on your line 20’- 30’ from your lure to stop the grass from sliding down your line. There is something in your tackle box that works real good that won’t impede you from reeling up all the way to the lure. Just think outside the box.

Run with your rod tips in the water a few inches. Or, like jimmy said, put something on the line, usually a snap weight clip works well and comes off really easily.
