Planer Board Help

I have spent the last couple seasons trying to dial in my planer boards and can’t seem to fix the porpoising motion they have. I can’t get them to ride smooth. I have tried moving the weight back and forth but cant figure out what I’m doing wrong? I leave slack in the line between the clasps but nothing I’ve done has stopped the up and down motion.

    Are you using mono?

    What brand of boards?

    What are you pulling?

My guess is they are church boards. Best way to fix that problem is run offshore boards. I had Church boards and never got them to not flip in big waves and dive. Any other boards I have not had any experience with.

Mojo, I don’t think the op is using church boards. Church boards only have one clamp which I’m sure you’re aware.

I personally have no problems with church boards. They track well and are easier to install and remove than the offshore boards. If you replace the plastic pin at the back of the board with a stainless one, they will never, ever slip on you no matter what line you use.

I have never had one dive on me in big waves. The only thing I think could cause that is having your rod tip too low or clipping it directly onto the lead core.

After thinking about this a bit I realized I did have some issues with their walleye boards. I did have issues with porpoising and diving. I don’t use them anymore. Just the standard TX-22s.
