    thanks!

Off Shore boards are what most guys use. You can convert them to Tattle Flags yourself, w/some wire and springs available at most hardware stores.

These are pretty much the standard I believe, tried and true.

Off Shore Tackle OR12L Side Planer.

Also the Off Shore Tackle OR18 Snapper Adjustable Tension Planer Board Release is the clips you’ll want for leadcore and super lines.

leadcore is very heavy for planer boards and can pull the board under just from the weight of the line that is out. the planer board can and will break the lead inside the line, which will ruin it. some guys will segment the leadcore with mono and attach the board on the mono. way to much screwing around. planer boards are mostly used for pulling cranks with mono or super lines.

I use offshore. you can still find them on sale at FF for around 25. The new opti tackle boards work pretty decent too.

Big fish Ben and PP are right on about the clips and segmented line. If you’re running leadcore on a board I would highly recommend segmenting it so you don’t have to attach directly to the lead. I rarely use lead on boards for fishing inland lakes such as Mille Lacs, but we do it all the time for fishing the Great lakes and the Offshore planer boards work well for up to 7-8 colors of lead.

As for the clips if you’re running anything but Mono IMO upgrading the front clip to an OR18 is a must. I also upgrade all of my rear clips to an OR16 snap weight clip but that is not as critical.
