Wondering if anyone has tried these Carbon Reels made by Piscifun? I think Tom Booley(?) uses them. I looking for a replacement and want to go light weight. These are pretty reasonable cost as well. Any thoughts?

I had one for a few months to see if it was an alternative option on client rods. Drag wasn’t as smooth as my shimanos, but if you aren’t going to use it daily, it isn’t a bad reel. I gave mine to a kid who was just getting into fishing and had all garage sale reels. I’ll stick with my stradics.

Bought a Carbon X 2000 this spring. I’ve only used it a handful of times, but so far I really like it. Drag seems to be just as good or better than comparable reels I have owned and it cost 25% less. They seem to run sales on their website fairly often too.

I ordered 2 this spring. At the price point, they are really tough to beat and have been great so far. I like the fact I could also buy extra spools as well

Decent reel for the money. I bought 4 to use for dragging jigs and they work as expected. If your trying to compare the Carbon to a Stradic there is no comparison and your considering 2 different price points. For a $60 reel, the Carbon does a good job. I dont love them so much, that I will buy 4 more but if you want a nice reel at that pricepoint you will be happy with them.

Ever used any of the Pflueger presidents? Are the comparable?

I bought a pair of Piscifun Ice X reels last year. Used them all last ice fishing season and they held up just fine. Been thinking of getting one of their bait casters. Decent product for the price point imo
