I’m looking to get a new trolling combo. What is a good setup that people are using? I’m pretty partial to St. Croix rods and I like Pfluger reels but I’m always game to change things up a bit. Trying to keep things under $200.

Are you looking for a spinning setup?

Trolling for pike I personally don’t think you need to break the bank with it being more of a strike then a wet sock or finesse bite.

I’d go 7ft medium action rid take your pick and a shimano reel or pfluegger

A 7′ Tony Rizzo med heavy rod paired with a Abu Garcia reel will do the job for 90% of guys here if you aren’t trolling for Muskie. More important then the rod is a quality leader and a drag set properly. Where the most Pike are lost trolling is when a solo fisherman slips the motor in neutral and allows slack in the line. Tight lines is more then a internet saying. lol
