Pigs with scales!! Humongous Perch

Lake Cascade, Idaho Gold. Ice Fishing is coming to an end pretty quickly. Ice is getting sketchy in some areas with Ice about 9″ and in some areas, it’s not safe. However, if you know where to go you will be greatly rewarded. Today may have been one of the best days of the season. I had some guests land over 60 perch, BIG Perch. Many in the 2.5 pound range. They kept a bunch to eat and released a bunch. 2 of these fish are going on the wall but my favorite was not the longest. 14.5″ but weighed in at 2 pounds 6 ounces and some change…it was a hog!

Wow.

Yeah great, but how much of that weight were in eggs ? ????

Who really cares how much is egg weight those things are huge!! I would love to catch a perch like that. Congrats!!!

Those look like pufferfish! Nice

Enormous. Some of them had gorged themselves on baby perch, others had snails, and some had these little balls of green and white parasites in them. Not sure what they were….
