Does anyone care to comment on how to reach the backwater fishing area that is south west of the main pigs eye lake. I tried last weekend by going west from the main barge channel, it got pretty shallow. Thanks in advance

Could be tough to get back there with the current water levels

Sounds to me like you where heading in the right direction.

Even in my 16 foot flat bottom jon I’m kickin up mud to get in there. Might not work for a bigger boat unless you pucker up and run in there wide open.

Same experience as those above. We gave up trying to get back there. Maybe a month ago when the water was crazy high.

I always check the stage and flow from the link above before heading back in there. Today the stage is at 5.3 and that’s about the lowest I’d go back there to fish.

Is there any other way )

That area is just not the same anymore. Used to love it back there.
