Thanks Jon Hi, I’ve had MRI, Cat Scans, xrays, PT, Chiropractic, two failed steroid injections, decompression. It seems to get really bad if I drive my pickup mote then 2 hours.Recently i was managing the pain with just ibuprofen but then drove over to Stewart MN to drop my boat and then drove to Rochester MN for a weekend photoshoot. This reaggaravated my pain and I could hardly walk. So there is a corelation between hours in my F150 and severe pain.
Buzz, correlation and causation are two different things. Sounds like you’re convinced the truck is the issue you can get a new truck or a new seat but pretty soon there will be other causes of the pain. A new truck is an expensive fix.
There are a bunch of good options mentioned from members, including myself, that have dealt with severe back issues. I hope you get relief because back pain is excruciating. Good luck.
Sounds like RAM should have spent less money on the stickers and secret compartments and invested more in driver comfort. I suppose a comfortable seat doesn’t make everyone look at you for how ridiculous your truck looks though. Kind of like that South Park episode with the bikers.

Idk man, in the current era my buddy has a 2019 Laramie 1500 and I just test drove a 2024 ram 2500 the other day, and despite trim level differences both had the most comfortable driver seats of all the current brand offerings, in my opinion anyway.
I think they figured out interior comfort pretty well since that 2012 model year.

Interesting. That must be why they jacked the price up on them so much. I just assumed it was the ol real estate trick. If you can’t sell garbage for cheap, try doubling the price and see if people think it’s actually worth something. Unfortunately for RAM that trick didn’t work and they still can’t move their trucks. Hopefully the OP doesn’t go this route. A hurtin back and a severe case of buyers remorse would be a terrible combination.

For a company who can’t sell trucks, there sure are lots of them on the road.
Jon mentioned your mattress as a possible culprit. Case in point: My wife and I were having pretty regular and debilitating back and hip episodes. We decided to try a new mattress as the old one became concave in the middle from years of use. The problems went away almost immediately after getting a new mattress. Definitely was a huge improvement. The 13 inch hybrid bed-in-the-box was the mattress we went with, which is now in all our guest bedrooms both at home and in the cabin.

I’m with Bearcat on this one. On our block it’s Ram, Chevy, Nissan, Ram, Ford and Ram for trucks.
I don’t know where to find those kinds of numbers but it’s pretty obvious just looking around and at dealers lots that the sheep brand is all but done for. Jacking up the prices was a last ditch effort to save the brand but it ended up being one of the final nails in the coffin. Maybe they will run a buy one get one free sale like Kia used to for you guys that like them. They have to get rid of all those trucks sitting on the lots somehow.

Need to meet in the middle more
I’m in a vehicle for a couple of hours a day for 1-hour stretches. I have commuted with some real pile of crap cars and trucks. I purchased a used dodge charger and for the first month, I could hardly get out of the dang car my back hurt so bad.
One day, I was driving and started thinking about my posture. Is there anything keeping me from being straight? I made a few seat adjustments that had minor positive impact. I then realized my problem. For years I always drove with the sun visor down because the defrost dried my eyes out. I realized that the distance between the dash and the open visor was minimal. I was actually crouching my body down to see through the gap. Yes, it was simple enough to put the visor in the closed position.
Dont overlook the obvious sometimes.
Back and joint pain is caused by a lot of little things that add up to a big problem. Improving your flexibility and core strength will help but addressing the little things like your uncomfortable truck seats, a worn out bed or a wallet in your back pocket will help. No one thing is going to fix the problem but anything you can eliminate will help.
Hurt my back 2 years ago. Couldn’t lift a gallon of milk without pain. Went through some PT and then the TRIA Neck and Back Program (specific weight training and stretches) . GAME CHANGER!!
Can do all my normal activities plus stuff I wouldn’t have tried to do pain free and I’m much stronger. I highly recommend it.
