Looking forward to hunting and ice fishing already and bought a Stump 4 Ice skid shack/blind

I got a good deal from a buddy who has had it for a few years. For the most part I plan on leaving it at the land and dragging it across the road to the lake, but could also trailer it pretty easy.

If you’re a hunter and an ice fisherman, give them a look! I fished in it with my buddy before and it works out great for two adults, and should work out well for me and the kids in it for fishing and hunting.

My little Honda Rancher has no problem dragging it around on land (it weighs around 400lbs), and should do pretty good chained up in reasonable snow conditions.

I have thought about those before. For the situation you have with that property that should work well.

I’ve hunted out of those before. They are not cheap but they are nice and hold excellent resale if you ever decided you don’t want it.

You’re not kidding, and the list prices have really gone up ($3,699 msrp for this now, but not sure what a dealer really sells them for).

That said, since it can pull double duty it’s cheaper than a skid house and a strict hunting blind purchased separately.

I bought it from him for what he paid for it new a handful of years ago ($1,800), but it wasn’t insulated when he got it and he did it himself.

My Father has one of those stumps. He deer hunts out of it. Had it for about 8 years now. He custom built a base for it so its about 6 feet off the ground. No skis on his. He has a 360 degree swivel chair and a heater inside. His must be smaller than yours though. Its tight in there with 2 people.

Its nice when the weather is less than ideal for deer hunting…but the downside is that his range of shooting is limited to where the windows are. And you obviously can’t hear nearly as well inside one, as opposed to an open air stand.

I think he bought it directly from Stumps or Banks or whatever the company is. Made of molded plastic and wasn’t cheap either.
