Oh shoot, I can’t wait to get out and go. The dogs are ready. They’re already catching rabbits in the backyard. The best 2.5 months of the year in my opinion )

Only 9 weeks until grouse opener. An earlier opportunity to get sweaty, bug bitten and happy.

Seen lots of hens this spring with roosters near by was thinking we would get a good hatch for once but guessing most of the ditch nesters drownded out.

Going to be about prime time for her!
I sure hope all that rain didnt kill all the chicks. Man areas to the South got pounded the last month or so.

I’ve got a dead bird in the freezer that I plan on busting out to get her some training with throwing it in some deep bush or something. She’s now fully grown into her body so she can be a brute in the brush.

Yep I think so too. Southern Mn, Northwest Iowa, and Eastern SD were all underwater during peak hatch. Although if they didn’t hatch, some hens will attempt again.

Good news is that there’s plenty of bugs for any surviving chicks to eat.

Pretty fired up too. Heading to Montana in early September again. Then it’s MN sharpies until the deer opener (idc about deer at all) which means time for roosters.

I’ve seen a few lately. No little ones though.
