Today was a successful day of pheasant hunting training with our pup Fritz! He did an amazing job at pointing, flushing, and ranging between hunters. He needs a little more work on bringing the bird all the way back to us. There were a few times he seemed to prefer to bring it only half way and poke at it with his nose. It was awesome seeing him in action out in the field, and it was a beautiful day for hunting too! He must’ve had a great time, he was asleep within ten minutes of heading back home. )

Nothing better than following a fine pointing dog in good bird country. Birds and more birds make a great dog!

Looks like a great day. Beautiful weather a few birds and a great dog. How old is he? Looks like you’ve done well with his training. Nothing better than hunting over a great dog.

    Keep it up!

He’s 1 year and 4 months. And he’s such a quick learner. He’s improving quickly from just a month ago when he was hesitant to run through thick brush! Now he runs over and under anything in his way! It’s so much fun to watch! And he slept so great last night too. We had to stir him awake for breakfast. Of course now that he’s up he’s going his usual mach 3 speed. )
