    100% Pheasant Back waytogo

Edible, but not the most delicious of mushrooms

Pick them when they’re young and supple, they get tough and woody they get older

Pheasant back for sure but they don’t offer much in flavor imo. I’d pass.

They’re like chewing on a big chunk of rubber if they get too old- I learned my lesson the hard way once, and only once!!!

good until they reach the size of a softball and even then its not amazing. the texture is kind of rubbery regardless of what you do and the flavor won’t blow you away. imo i’d rather leave empty handed.

If only morels were as easy to find as these….a blind man can walk into the woods and find pheasantbacks. Tried them once and it tasted like wood flavored watermelon rind.

Did I miss something? Not sure what a immature morel looks like but has the right shape.
