So It’s my birthday later this week and I have decided I am going to fish somewhere new on wednesday. Here is a list of what I am looking for

    1. 2 hr drive from Eau Claire, WI
    2. Walleyes
    3. Chance to catch some 22″+ fish

I have fished pool 4 once this year but never pepin. I have never even seen petenwell/castlerock so would not even know what landing to use.

I prefer jig fishing (verticle and pitching) casting cranks, and trolling. I’m almost ashmed to admit this but I have never done a lindy rig or spinner rig as far as I know. Trying to avoid those as my primariy attack but will try to figure em out if I need to. So my question is other than lake wissota are there any other bodies of water you would suggest? Either way based on the type of methods I prefer which body of water would you suggest?

Petenwell is full of slot fish in the 22 to 27 inch range. Legals are tough to find right now though.

Pool 4 is tough sledding for legals right now as well-

LCO or Grindstone gottta be right on that boundary of two hours… Long Lake for sure, I think you can troll on all three and for sure after 1st you’ll be able to…

Grindstone is close. Though would it be a better option than the Chippewa flowage, which I am somewhat familiar with?

I was on Pepin last evening, very muddy water. Got one channel cat pulling crawlers with slow death hooks.
