I love the sun shirts, but I hate all the big logos and designs. Seems like it’s tough to find one without a giant logo for a decent price. I’ve bought several of the Simms solar shirts on sale — they’re great.

I order mine from a guy in Florida. They seem to be holding up just fine as I wear mine almost every time I’m on the water. I don’t even think about wearing short sleeved shirts while in a boat.

You should have told this to the FW before Fathers Day.
They make my butt look fat don’t they?

We have a nice selection of Simms shirts @ http://www.Krugerfarms.com. They are very nice shirts for Summer fishing. The sleeves have thumb loops to keep them over a portion of the hands. One of the only long sleeve Summer fishing shirts that I will wear. We also sell Under Armor as well.TumaInactiveFarmington, MNPosts: 1403June 19, 2017 at 3:52 pm #1699866I love the sun shirts, but I hate all the big logos and designs. I found some Hanes Sport Long Sleeve CoolDri (50+ UPF) shirts that I just ordered to give a try. No logo and solid colors only but just $6.37 each.

Great find! Let us know how you like them. May try some myself, if anything for that price they’ll be great for working in the yard or even 4 wheeling.

Yes – thanks for the info. I actually tried them a couple of years ago. They’re not bad and a great value! The Simms shirts feel lighter/cooler to me than the Hanes shirts, but totally agree that you can’t beat them for the money.

And there plummets the value of Skeeter’s and Ellen’s stock.
July 7, 2017 at 2:29 pm #1702947I am sure I am in the minority, if not on an island, but I really like the ones with fish “wraps”, whatever you want to call it.
tim hurleyPosts: 5845July 7, 2017 at 3:04 pm #1702953Joes has name brand (XL only) on sale, 50% off-would have bought one but they only have white-white usually does not work out too well for me.
July 7, 2017 at 4:51 pm #1702977I’m sure they are out there, but I’m not sure I’ve seen one yet. If there is, they need that stripe on the bottom of their tail in the design.
AUTO_5InactiveMendota Heights, MNPosts: 660TumaInactiveFarmington, MNPosts: 1403July 10, 2017 at 9:43 am #1703319I had some time to test out the Hanes Sport Long Sleeve CoolDri shirt this weekend while playing kickball. It made a big difference. Later that day I was in a pride and had to change shirts. I became uncomfortable very quickly and had to get in some shade. I could tell while playing kickball that my upper body felt cooler and my neck was hot. Later that day I ordered some short sleeve ones and more long sleeve ones for working around the house.
July 10, 2017 at 10:23 am #1703336I’d say anyone who doesn’t care for the designs or is looking for a cheap* shirt, those Hanes shirts are the ticket. It’s the same exact thing.
* as in least expensive, as opposed to crappy quality.
July 10, 2017 at 9:25 pm #1703461I have several short and long sleeve. Long sleeve only in the boat and short sleeve for casual wear. Light nylon pants and also wear the gloves without fingertips and hat with neck cover. Bullfrog pump Sunscreen on face only. Doctors orders after a skin melanoma. I hate sunscreen. Thought I would hate long sleeve shirts in the boat but now love them. I have a couple Cabelas and a St. Croix that I like.
July 12, 2017 at 6:08 am #1703715I picked up a couple long sleeve 50 UPC at Cabela’s for just under $20 each and I like them so far. Seems like a too good to be true price for Cabela’s.
FryDog62Posts: 3696July 12, 2017 at 7:06 am #1703718I have some loud pattern shirts, but prefer brands with the subtle logos/patterns best – really like Simms… especially like their collar which comes up a little higher in the back of the neck (that’s where I get sunburned most). Just wish Simms made one in a long sleeve 1/4 zip.
July 12, 2017 at 11:03 am #1703789That’s pretty sweet, I just don’t think I could wear a full on hood/gaitor. I know you can put the hood down and take off the gaitor, I just don’t think I’d use them. I’ve even thought about the shirts with hoods, but I’m still on the fence.
One of the reasons I like these shirts is because I am a t-shirt and shorts guy. No frills. I don’t wear a watch, necklace, nothing, no accessories. So for me, button ups and collars are non starters. If they were my style, I’d wear them.
The reason you don’t like neck gaiters is because you still have a mullet!

August 7, 2017 at 9:08 am #1708706That’s a good deal. I still don’t understand why these manufacturers make black performance shirts.
kabefisherman11Posts: 201August 7, 2017 at 3:03 pm #1708814Good question pug. So you don’t get too warm and sunburned in the winter????

I have a black and gray shirt that I like for cooler, sunny days that I wear to protect against sunburn, not necessarily for the cooling effect. And it’s nice that it dries quickly when you get splashed.
On a side note, I notice that I the fabric seems to hold onto the stinky pits smell more so than other fabrics. Does anyone have good suggestions on how to get the smell out?

Standard white vinegar. Wash by itself or with other performance shirts with a cup of vinegar then wash regularly. Works for me.
