Headed up to Perch fish next weekend and would like to know what you guys recommend for Perch fishing?

Some of the lakes are pretty clear and we usually use spoons and small rattle baits.

Looking for size and types of line; not very many Perch around my home lakes.

I’d go with 3 or 4lb; I’m imagining walleyes mixed in.

I just got back and used 4 lb ice magic all weekend. Besides being bit off by a northern, i had zero issues and caught a lot of perch. I could see my jig resting on the bottom in 21′ of water.

I’ve been up twice this year to Waubay and I use 3# Asso fluorocarbon. Handles everything that lake has thrown at me so far. Good Luck!

4lb ice magic works great used out there on all my trips for perch and crappies. Eyes I use 6lb ice magic.

Are you fishing outside of in a house? If you are outside then mono is the ticket. If I am fishing much over 20 FOW I prefer some type of braid with a few feet mono leader tied on. I also like braid if I am fishing out of a house because of the superior sensitivity. JMO. I look forward to your report!
