Pepin in late November?

Has anyone fished Pepin this late with any luck? Saugers in the river seem to be the main event right now, but curious if the lake is any good, particularly for walleye.

I see very few boat on Pepin in the fall. Maybe people are missing out, but I doubt it.

so how come the guide boats aren’t on the lake?

Because they want their clients to catch fish. I’m pretty sure they know someone who is or they may jump in a different boat that blends in and do their searching that way

I drove past Pepin this weekend and not one boat from LC to Wabasha. All the eyes are in the river up from the can line or maybe down river past Wabasha, but you still have to get them to bite. you may find some straglers around point no point but they are trying to find current somewhere. dragging jigs up stream will be the only game in town for a while if you haven’t put the boat away.
I have fished Pepin in November very little but a majority of the fish caught are not eyes or sauger. there are GIANT bait clouds out there and the fish may be there, but they are not missing a meal.

If it were me… save on gas, get out of the wind, beat boat and clients up less on river than pepin.
