I thought I read here or the paper where the power plant had a reactor shut down for repairs just a short while ago? If one reactor is off-line you may well see ice at Frontenac now that will support foot travel. Trailer Point in Lake City may be fishable now too. I haven’t been down there for about three weeks and can’t say for positive though. Frontenac has always been a place I just can’t feel safe. I’ve seen multiple vehicles go swim there when ice should have been enough to support them. I’ve seen people drop in too along the wing dam. We were hiking out one day about as nice as this morning is and thought we heard water running. After using the spud to move some snow we were rewarded with clear ice about an inch thick with water gurgling immediately below it. Both reactors were on line that day. I’ve never done so well there that I want to chance the ice. Getting old so its just me.

Thanks Tom, that was the last place I fished with a good friend who passed last winter. Was hoping to get down there when the ice is ready ~5″ and bring back some memories.
