People with RV Camper Trailers

I find looking for a new/used camper trailer frustrating.

Let me vent then I’ll get on to asking for opinions.
So far, all the dealerships close at 4 or 5 pm weekdays including Fridays. Some have shorter hours on Saturdays and no one is open on Sundays.
Sure I understand this is the “off” season, but so far none of the sales people we talked with want to stay more then 5 minutes past their closing time. One young lady does reply to my text messages no matter what time.

Used campers are going for a premium price! In some cases I can get almost the exact same model for as little as $5k more and that would include the new camper warranty.

I thought I would like an Ice Castle but the FW isn’t interested. I think she’s thinking ice fishing and I’m thinking retaining heat for winter use. Still working through this yet.

So far, her only requirement is a separate bed area for the Favorite Granddaughter. Whether is bunk or a regular bedroom doesn’t matter. Just wants a second bed separate from the main area of the camper to let her sleep without me waking her up in the middle of the night.

    Wrapped to retain heat
    No leather upholstry
    Holding tanks
    Less then 40′ (I’m thinking around 35)
Nice if it had a residential size fridge/freezer

Dealers will deliver. So far I’ve been quoted $300.00 from Rogers and $150.00 from Newport ($3 per mile). I’m not planning on trying to trailer one any distance.

So that’s about all I’m looking for. Any suggestions? Brands to stay away from? Dealers to go to or stay away from?

I would think this would be a fun task, but the FW seems to be enjoying it more then I. crazy

Since you are setting it up in a new campground (congrats) i would also have them skirt it, unless you face flooding issues like at Everts. Skirting looks nice and helps keep some critters from setting up shop under the trailer.
Ask the salespeople if they work on commission, if they do i would expect them to accommodate your hours within reason.
    Maybe look for private sellers?

Yeah I can see many people are just lookers and who wants to cut into the off time for lookers that won’t ever be back. As we narrow it down to a couple trailers, I’ll be a little more aggressive on working with me on the hours.

I don’t think there’s any place on the river that isn’t in the flood plain. Pink skirting would certainly help the heating factor.

    Thanks Dutch.

Might not be a campground…but we were told we wouldn’t be able to find the perfect camper.

The closet internet buying guru set them straight.
The only item she didn’t like about this camper is that the full size fridge was black. LOL!

Anyone tow a 36′ camper 46 miles before? Will pay cash if a Spam trade won’t work out. )
