I work with 2 guys who honestly believe that (somehow) the earth is flat. They also think there is no such thing as gravity. 
What are your opinions on this and what do u say to these nuts? They chalk all facts against this up to the conspiracy theory that the government and the rich are hiding the true facts of everything from us. And yes i am sober and serious.

You don’t try and talk sense to them, just shake your head and walk away. Some may really believe it, others just try and see how gulliable others are. 
And others think bleach injections could cure Covid and nuclear bombs would be an effective way to break up hurricanes. It takes all kinds.

There was a country song once that said ” The world must be flat, ’cause when people leave town, they never come back”.
Everybodys thoughts are mine exactly. 
The difference now is that social media reinforces ANY view that people have. The more reinforcement that a person receives, the more they believe. It’s the downward algorithm spiral. They are fed only the information that reinforces their belief.
An adult that I have known for years and considered perfectly normal suddenly dropped into a conversation that BTW, the Minnesota government has secret mines underneath the Twin Cities. Armies of slave labor toil in these hidden mines.The proceeds from these secret mines are being used for all kinds of nefarious activities. This belief is apparently so common it has a name and an entire social media subculture devoted to “proof” of its existence.
