Peltier Lake Info

I keep hearing that this lake had a really bad winterkill last year. It is right by my house, so it would be nice to have those rumors either confirmed or debunked.

It has experienced two major winterkills. The first was approximately five years ago and last winter, although the DNR was late in putting in an aerator, still suffered from a partial kill. Both winterkills were not a total kill, but the first was a ‘bigger’ partial kill than the latest. There are still plenty of fish in the lake, but be prepared to sift through a ton of small fish in order to find a quality sunfish or crappie to make table fare.
