For the guys that fish Mille Lacs Smallies alot, how rare is a legit 22”? I’ve caught several 21+ but finally stuck the 22+ that I’ve been looking for 5 years. Always said I’d get a replica done. She was 22 1/8 with a 15.5” girth. Any suggestions for a taxidermist?

A 22″+ smallmouth is rare anywhere in my opinion.
It’s not a regular occurrence by any means. They are in there though.

Pretty rare, I’ve caught a few 21″ but never a 22″. Congrats!!!
a 22″ SM or LM is rare almost anywhere in Minnesota. Great catch. Any idea on the weight. I’d like to see that one in a month or so after it really started to fatten up for the winter. I bet in a month or so that fish would be close to a 1/2 pd. heavier.
I didn’t have a scale, just a board and tape for girth. She had a pretty big belly already, but I’m sure she will get fatter. I’d guess over 6, hit like a freight train and was just dead weight staying down

I’d bet over 6 for sure, I caught a 21.75″ on ML last fall and that was 6.25 lbs and wasn’t as fat as yours imo.
