Who you use and any to stay away from?

Last employer used Paychex, seemed to have issues time to time, but that also could have been the employer. Curious to guys experience with any. I see my QuickBooks Online has a service as well, might streamline paperwork for me if works well.

    Payroll control systems

I was their accountant and I loved this services compared to most. They liked to switch. This was a reliable system with easy to use features.

    We use ADP

You use that employee access app? It seems this younger generation might feel that’s a better alternative to an actual check, having digital access to all that stuff seems a good idea. Plus many of the payroll services have this now.

I use Paychex. I like them. They have great customer service, recently went with the GPS clock in and love it. A small learning curve but the guys pick it up quickly.
Down side is they hound with every other service they offer and they have ALOT.
I just told me contact person to “don’t call us, we’ll call you”.
I give them 3 out of 4 and would recommend.

If you dig around you will find a small local company that does payroll. Every city the size of St. Cloud has one. They will also handle your audits and things like that. My wife does payroll for a handful of small business and I don’t see any differences then what the big companies do. Her biggest issue is the owners getting the hours to her on time, raises, withholding, child support and things like that.

    Thank Heaven we left ADP!

When the MN/WI laws changed they didn’t but sent a letter out saying they would. I caught it 3 paychecks later.
They have a crazy password system that forces changes every 90 days or so…and you can’t ever use a password that’s been used in the past.

At the time the hours were manually transferred and even though a person was to recieve pay for 80 hours, there were a few times they received pay for less. Fat fingers was the explanation.

I’m not overly joyed about having Paychex now (for the price they charge), but it beats the crap out of ADP.
