If anyone cares? Not a big surprise, thought he had a “spitting” chance. I’m happy about it.

He was a fan favorite back in the late 70’s, early to mid 80’s with the Milwaukee Brewers. During that time for me living in Madison WI, was a big time Brew Crew fan. Quite nice though to see him back in MN and having this achievement so many years later.

I think I’m at least 99% right that as of July 1st he was going to be fired. The new front office team was ready to transition and bring in “their guy.” Second half of the season foiled their plans.

Couldnt agree more with you frydog. Didnt think there was a chance at all. Didnt even need to fire him. His contract was up, Falvey and Levine want their own guy and I felt they made it very clear since being hired that Molitor simply wasnt “their guy”, as you mentioned. Poor bullpen management, excessive bunting, poor roster decisions, AND moving Sano to the outfield.. lol, wild.

Pretty interesting how Falvey & Levine will get the credit if the Twins become winners. Look around. To this point those are all Ryan players except Castro. I’m not sold on Molitor but time will tell. It’s easy to forget they only won 85 games, it’s not like they steamrolled anybody.

Do you think they will trade Dozier this year?

I don’t expect them to for a few reasons. First being that I don’t think there will be the bidding market for him, so the Twins would most likely have to sell pretty low, like they would have had to do last year. Most of the buying, aggressive teams out there either already have a pretty good 2B or are saving up some cash for the incredibly stacked free agent class of next year. Because of this great FA class, a lot of teams would look at a Dozier trade as a 1 year rental knowing he will be asking for big bucks when his contract is finished after next season. In my opinion the Twins are better off offering him a long term deal this offseason and ending any potential trade speculation.

Big Brewer fan here, its great to see Molitor do well. Saw him as a player in County Stadium many times and he was always a fan favorite. Even now, he still gets cheers at Miller Park
