I finally tried to update the Software version in my Helix models, ran into a couple snags with my own “low tech” capabilities, and called Humminbird for some help today.
Donna spent over an hour with me on the phone, walking me through the steps to load updated files, transfer to a chip, and install those into my units, plus set me up for the third unit and trolling motor that were still in the boat in storage…
She was impressive in her knowledge, patience with my lack of skills, and thoroughness.
What a fabulous employee for Humminbird, and person….
THANKS for a refreshing outcome in this crazy world we live in.

It is refreshing. I’ve had similar experiences with them.

Humminbird took off when Lowrance had their customer service failure years ago. Had Lowrance taken care of it’s customers, they wouldn’t have lost 1000’s of them to Humminbird. Good to hear you were taken care of.

I use the one boat network app. to request a call back. I get an almost immediate call back from a knowledgeable person. UNLIKE LiTime batteries.

Had a similar experience a few years back, and my unit wouldn’t read the chip with the upgrade, so they had me send it in and I got it back two weeks later fixed and upgraded, no charge except shipping!

Was also going to say if you go online and request a callback it is usually way faster than waiting on hold depending on time of day. Then just go about your business until they call you.

I waited on hold for 3 hours over two calls the other day and still didn’t talk to anybody. Figured it out myself so all is well. Good to hear of these options for callback and good to hear their service, once you get someone, has been successful for many here.
